Kweli announced this Duck Down vs. Blacksmith showcase from a chair at the Colbert Show a few weeks ago

Here is the recap video from the sold out CMJ showcase at the Music Hall of Williamsburg featuring performances from Skyzoo & Statik Selektah, Kidz In The Hall, Smif N Wessun, Jean Grae, Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli & Buckshot with the live band.

Talib Kweli & Mos Def aka BlackStar will be on the Colbert Report Tonight(Wednesday), which airs at 11:30pm. Blackstar will debut a new song “Fix Up” tonight on the air.

Yesterday, Blackstar cancelled their New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Charlotte, Cincinnati and Indianapolis shows.

So today, Kweli hopped in the Colbert Chair to film this PSA about the Duck Down Records vs. Blacksmith CMJ Showcase on October 22nd at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. The showcase features performances by Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae, Buckshot, Smif N Wessun, Kidz In The Hall, Promise & a special ‘Population Control’ music set by Statik Selektah.

The Sound Clash is taking place at the premier venue in Austin, TX, “The Habana Annex,” formerly the Fader House.

Buckshot, co-owner of Duck Down Records, had this to say about the historic event: “We are excited to partner up with Stones Throw Records to present the Soundclash. Stones Throw and Duck Down are both highly respected brands in the Independent rap game and we understand that there is power in numbers. On March 12th we’ll be providing a free show to the public and it’s a way to give back to the rap community who continues to support our movements and our projects.
