Comfest Rumors 2010 #1

Here’s some rumors about Comfest 2010.

- Most stages will be ending earlier in the past. Not a lot of stuff happening in the dark.
- Longer breaks between bands

This will likely result in 40-50 less bands.

As always, the thought provoking conversation about Columbus’ favorite festival rages on in the message board. (Don’t forget our bonus libel thread).

I Am Voting For Envelope For CD101 Summerfest

YouTube Preview Image

You know Donewaiting rides for rapper Envelope. He rides for us. Envelope played our Third and Sixth anniversaries.

Above is a video Jessica Morgan took of Envelope’s epic Comfest performance that was cut short because of some sort of noise rule that placates cowards  in nearby townhouses.

Well Well…looks like Envelope has a shot being the highlight at another outdoor festival here in Columbus

CD101 is having this thing where you vote for  on their website to pick who plays their  Summerfest with fellow Monster House alums, Matt & Kim and some other groups. If Envelope is added to this festival then his music will end up in regular rotation on CD101.

Aside from him being a good dood,  really no artist ,save maybe TNV  or Blueprint, deserves radio more than Envelope when you account draw, record sales, and resonance with an audience.

So help Tony help this world be less mediocre.  Click here to Vote

Weakened Wrap-up #12: Comfest Edition

Pictured: Brainbow w/Lara Yazvac@Comfest

Oh man Comfest...or something like that. Basically there are a number of ways to go about Comfest. You can camp out somewhere in the park on a blanket, go check out bands with “clever” band names, wander around aimlessly running into people you know and drink booze and eat food and not pay attention to any bands, or you can hang out at the Offramp Stage all weekend like I pretty much did and watch bands that you know will be good.

How many times can you say the same things about the same bands? Find out after the jump! Continue reading

Comfest 2009 Music Schedule

Leaked here, via DeVille. Not “official” though, so subject to change I’d imagine.

Volunteer for the Donewaiting.com/Cringe.com Comfest Merch Booth

The sign!

Once again donewaiting.com and Cringe is sponsoring the official Comfest Band Merch Booth. This is where we sell all the CDs, vinyl, and t-shirts of the bands performing during Comfest.

Volunteer with us! It’s the most fun ever. And it’s normally a relaxed thing, except when we are holding down the tent during lightning storms. You get tokens (for food or beer) and an official Comfest t-shirt.

We’re looking for people to work 4 hour shifts (shorter shifts may be possible). If interested, email me at rduffy@gmail.com with the following info:

Name
Cell #
T-Shirt Size
What Shift You’d Like To Work (2 options are great)

We run the tent from 11am to 11pm every day.

This is an official Comfest booth, and all of the money we raise goes 100% to the bands. And we sell a ton of stuff, which always warms my black, jaded heart.

(bands: if you want to sell your stuff in the booth, that info is coming soon)

Comfest 2008 Recaps

Comfest 2008 is over. Discussion going on in our message board.

Pictured above is Hugs and Kisses (dressed as Scooby Doo characters), who put on an amazing set. Backed by The Slide Machine, I love the new recorded/live performing hybrid that they’re doing. Hopefully they’ll keep it up.

Comfest discussion still raging in our message board. See you in The Other Paper tomorrow.

Comfest Schedule 2008

Finally posted legitimately.

Volunteer at the Comfest Merch Booth 2008

For the fifth year Cringe and Donewaiting.com are organizing the Band Merch Booth at Comfest. Pat Radio is also helping us a lot this year, too. If you can volunteer at the booth for a few hours, please email me (rduffy at gmail.com) or contact Treadway at info at cringe.com with your availability.

Work 3 hour shifts and get a Comfest t-shirt. Tokens given out after every hour worked for booze and food consumption. Our days begin around 10:30ish each morning and end around when the music ends each day. Low key, high excitement.

Like previous years, our message board is going a bit loopy over the festival.
