YouTube Preview Image

A week from today, Divine Fits return to Columbus after wowing the Ace of Cups crowd back in August. Tickets are still available for the Newport show. Not only that, but the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion show, previously scheduled at the Basement that same night, has been moved to the Newport, sharing the bill with Divine Fits, Cold Cave and People’s Temple.

This live video (with better audio/video quality than most shaky YouTube vids) of Divine Fits covering Frank Ocean comes via Stereogum. While you’re at it, check out the recent “+1” feature from Pitchfork.tv, too, in which Sam Brown recounts a story from a 1991 Nirvana show:

Frank Ocean To Appear on Jimmy Fallon Tonight

photographed by Nabil Elderkin

I love TV Music Moments. If Tyler & Hodgy Beats on Jimmy Fallon were Odd Future’s Fear on SNL moment. Then tonight’s Frank Ocean LNWJF appearance after publicly admitting to having been in love with a man is kinda like Elton John and Eminem at the Grammys.

Yessir, All eyes on Frank Ocean tonight as he will be backed by the legendary Roots Crew on National TV. His anticipated album Channel Orange drops July 17th.

Footnote to Donewaiting’s 9th Anniversary: P.Blackk & DJ Bruni (above) almost had to cancel their performance because someone ran a stop sign when Blackk was headed back the venue.  Zero Star (below) performed with a 102 degree fever and a tension headache.  One person on twitter described the evening like this “@wesflexner  if @Zerostar82 was Jordan with the flu, last night was @PBlackk‘s Willis Reed moment @aceofcupsbar

Under the picture of P.Blackk is a DJ Detox’s Donewaiting’s 9th Anniversary Hip Hop MIX.  It has music by P. Blackk and Zero Star mixed in with Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Talib Kweli, Jay Electronica, Mos Def & more. For Tracklist visit DJ Detox’s Soundcloud page.

Frank Ocean Named GQ “Rookie of the Year” Announces Make Up Show & Another Date

Odd Future’s Frank Ocean was named Rookie of the Year by GQ. Between singing on Tyler, the Creator’s album Goblin, being all over Watch the Throne, and dropping his own mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra, it seems like like a solid choice for the former Bieber and John Legend songwriter.

In other news, Ocean announced on his Tumblr a make-up show for his cancelled Nov 6 NY concert and an additional show at the Bowery. The make-up show is Nov. 27th, Tickets from the Nov 6th show will be honored that night only. Ocean will also play at the Bowery on the 28th. You can buy tickets for the Nov 28th Show here.

Video: Tyler, The Creator “She” (feat Frank Ocean)

Odd Future.com just posted “Visuals”  for Tyler, the Creator’s song “She” off the brilliant album, Goblin.

I can barely type at this moment because the video is so goddamn funny. Starts off sorta on some “Trap N The Closet” and evolves into some almost “Donnie Darko” video but funny as hell.

If R Kelly sounded like Dwele and then got attacked by a crushing skater  kid…seriously watch this.

Seriously, anyone in Hip Hop who fronts on Tyler after this prolly seriously has money involved with something that isn’t as lucrative and is pissed.

Oh yeah the guy singing on hook, FRANK OCEAN, currently has a song on rotation on 107.5.  This song is super smooth.

New Frank Ocean Video “Acura Intergurl” + Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All Scheduled to Play Festivals in Spain and Australia .

Above is a new Frank Ocean video for “Acura Intergurl”. It debuted yesterday on Frank Ocean’s tumblr and Onsmash were gully enough to put it on vimeo. Def Jam will package new material along with tracks from nostalgia, ULTRA for release this summer that you can have sex to. You cannot have sex to “Goblin”.

Frank Ocean did a few surprise appearances on some East Coast dates with Tyler, the Creator cause he is on that “She” song on “Goblin” where dude gets stabbed slashed for a fucking a ninja’s lady, and Tyler sounds more like a crushing skater kid than a poser rapist. Shit’s tight. Good summer jam, And whenever you might think Tyler is super-simpin’ he adds a “cunt” addlib for strength of humor’s nuance.

Tyler, The Creator had the number 5 album in country last week. Kvlt marketing at it best. Leave the attempts for hit radio songs to the R+B crooners, Ocean, and Syd.

Chances are good Ocean will pop-up on more OFWGKTA shows from time to time.

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All will be performing at Primavera Sound in Spain this weekend 5/28 and will be in Australia for Vivid Live Festival at the Sydney Opera House alongside The Avalanches, The Cure, Spiritualized, and more. Look out for dates on the west coast and Chicago for the Pitchfork Music Festival this summer.

Tyler and Domo were also spotted hanging out at a Smith Westerns/Yeasayer show in L.A, last night.
