Video:Lxe For the UnCool “Flowers”

Over a broken loop, Lxe For the Uncool tells a child that Allah lives in everything including the Flowers.
The Columbus emcee basically raps about believing in one God and then a Malcolm X speech plays.
The visual is shots of various people in Columbus, Ohio.
Flowers is off of Lxe’s upcoming TH? M?L?OLM LITTL? APP?R?TUS project.
This video premiered on Curated.com
And was directed by Arris Productions (Dir: David Damen, Prod: Stan Moore & Tony Bumgarner, Dir of Photography & Editor : Chris Cloud).

MP3: Rashad “Jam”

MP3: Rashad: JAM (That’s My Sh-t!) 1

Thats my ish….Rashad, the producer/rapper from the Northside of Columbus, gives you an ode to his favorite music. Perfect song to put on your IPOD as you walk around on this glorious day.

Rashad has laced Lefortheuncool and Stalley this year.
So I’m really looking forward to see what he does with own album, Museum.

MP3:The Catalyst feat Np-“Swim Good 2.0”

MP3:Catalyst Feat. N.P. – Swim Good 2.0 (1)

Get Right host,The Catalyst and fellow Though Setter N.P. decided to rap over Frank Ocean’s “Swim Good”
The Catalyst’s verse is dope because while it intially sounds like a rap about sexual conquests, it is actually a bi-polar tale of self-loathing and self-importance.
N.P.’s verse vaguely hints at failures because of a poor choice. I don’t think he is actual talking about himself, though.

NUMERO GROUP UNEARTHS LOST CLEVELAND RAP RECORDINGS FROM 1987

Normally I avoid history because it requires accuracy, but this is pretty awesome. The Numero Group just reissued a #rare Ohio Hip Hop recording from 1987 record by Doc Rhymin’ .

Yerp, old school Cleveland Hip Hop over some hard drums given to us by the same people that reissued that Bill Moss comp. The 3 track single was on Boddie Records and sounds like early BDP minus the Queensbridge disses.

You can listen to it over at the Fader or just buy it from Numero.

Video: Blueprint “The Clouds” (Live in Madison, Wi)

YouTube Preview Image

Rhymesayers is circulating this very high quality video of Blueprint performing “the Clouds” off his new album Adventures in Counter-Culutre in Wisconsin.

The song addresses somethings that have probably ran through the minds of anyone who has sat at Cafe Bourbon Street or Carabar. The deaths of Camu, Daymon and Przm, coke use, fights all get a mention in Blueprint’s new mission statement on “the Clouds”.

Kinda interesting to see somethings that is very real in Columbus being spoke about to a large crowd in Wisconsin.

Oh yeah, peep Bobby Silver from Brainbow playing with Blueprint and Rare Groove.
(Duffy takes a bow).
