MP3: K’naan ft. Nas “Nothing to Lose” (Remix) Produced By Rashad

MP3; Nothing to Lose (Elev8tor Remix)

From a Columbus stand point this song is really special.  It’s a comissioned remix of a Nas & K’naan collab by Columbus producer Rashad Thomas. K’naan is internationally known as the SOMALIAN rapper. And well Nas is Nas. Rashad is from the Northside of Columbus which has a large Somalian population. K’naan even used to stay in Columbus before he blew up.  So Rashad linking with K’naan kinda bumps right. Rashad’s stoked on it. He said, “I was excited when the call came from K’naan’s camp to produce a remix for his song with Nas. These were two artists that were definitely on our list to work with, just so happened that we caught them at the same damn time. Enjoy.”

MP3:L.e For The Uncool-The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street

Columbus emcee Le for the Uncool gives a quick follow-up the Measure.
This quick 15 minute ep is produced by J Rawls, Path, Rashad Thomas, & Grimmface and guests the Milk N Syrup guys. Somehow it manages to ask people pay homage, have lo-fi moments, referance Malcolm X, bring the X-Files to Harlem in Mobb Deepish story form, announce that Le is a hood dude that has taste instead being a “hype beast” and end with soul sample driven love song..

The second song, thePath joint, was seriously made on Wednesday, cause Meta4ce and i shot thru the session after hitting the Vegan Potluck at the St. James Tavern. Fabrshay-A is on the song not Meta. And Fab rips it. It was cool to see a few rappers trade stories and different time periods of Columbus rap.

Columbus rap is doing well, b.

Cam’ron’s tribute to Harlem Rapper Huddy Combs who died in a car crash earlier this week.
I don’t know much about Huddy Combs, but I know he was friends with Columbus rapper/producer Rashad Thomas of the 3rd.
I figured while remembering Eyedea, it should be noted another member of the Columbus Hip Hop community lost a friend.

Stalley and Rashad Thomas of the 3rd performing “Slap” off of the upcoming ((ITM)) mixtape. Picture Stalley rollin’.
The recorded sound isn’t perfect but at the same time but between the beat and the hook it reminds you that Rashad is really talented.
