Great Tim Easton NPR Interview Online

Tim Easton did a great interview on an Alaskan NPR station recently and you can hear it online here. Ohio’s proud son has taken up doing a tour of Alaska with Cleveland’s Rosavelt. It’s a really insightful interview about band touring, and it finishes up with an acoustic performance of “Lexington County Jail.”

Mojave 3 + Hummer: An Obvious, Perfect Match

Imagine my surprise when I was watching TV and the lovely sounds of Mojave 3 hits my ears for a commercial. Generally, I don’t have a problem when bands lend their music out to companies to earn a few bucks, but for HUMMER? Holy crap, the Hummer is the devil on wheels, Mojave 3, don’t you know that?

The commercial can be viewed on Hummer’s official site, too. Mojave 3’s website proudly promotes their involvement with Hummer. Haven’t you ever been to the Hummerdinger website?

CMJ Music Marathon Heavies Announced

The list of nationally known bands performing at CMJ has been posted up on their site. A complete day to day schedule has not been released yet, though. That’s when we’ll learn of the smaller, lesser known bands.

So far, though, it’s looking pretty good.

The Last New Bomb Turks Show …. EVER.. (Forever ever?)

Over on my Columbus OH column, I’ve got info on the final New Bomb Turks show going down on Saturday.

Rule #1 of bands breaking up should be, “never say never.” So many bands are reuniting that it’s hard to believe a breakup is permanent, but I’ll probably be at the show just in case.

Hot Of Montreal Action

Junk Media interviews Of Montreal and Tiny Mix Tapes posts up the band’s tourdates.

Meanwhile, the founder of donewaiting.com continues to forget to write about how much he loves their new album.
