New Jimmy Eat World music
Jimmy Eat World is supposedly still in the process of recording the follow-up to the mega-successful Bleed American (or Self-Titled if you bought it after 9/11) CD. They played a show in November in California and somebody did a pretty good job of recording the show. Peaking around the Jimmy Eat World message board, I came across a thread that has MP3 links to all of the shows performed at the show including a handful of NEW SONGS. For those of you who can’t wait for a new record, download these MP3s NOW because there is no telling how long they’ll be posted. And, after you’ve had a chance to listen to the new songs, discuss here. I’m proud to say that I knew these boys back in the days that they were playing at Bernie’s in front of a dozen people.

Death Cab’s Ben Gibbard Gives Afghan Whigs Some Props
“I think the music I write and the music we play has an emotional weight to it. And the bands that I’ve always related to and loved, like Red House Painters or Afghan Whigs, are bands that write intellectual love songs.” (full story)
I’d pay good money for a Twilight Singers/Death Cab for Cutie double bill.

Blogging Coachella
Boing Boing points out that Buzznet will be offering anyone attending the festival to post live text and photo updates to their site from the event via your futuristic cell phones.
Buzznet will be hosting a Coachella Festival moblog that anyone can contribute to from the Polo Fields during this weekend’s music & art festival. As always, it is easy to contribute just email photos and blog text to ‘coachella@buzznet.com’. As long as everyone’s cellphones work out there, this will be a very successful event.

Ultimate Donny Answers Your Questions: Part 2 of 2
Ultimate Donny is the lead singer for Gil Mantera’s Party Dream. When he’s not rocking your ass, he’s giving out advice. Gold Advice. Solid Gold Advice. The type of advice people pay money for. But to help celebrate the release of the band’s new album, “Once Triangular,”, we had the donewaiting.com message board users ask Donny some questions. You can read part one here and part two here:
I’ve been going back and forth in my mind on whether I should by an Apple PowerBook laptop or a PC laptop. Which one would you buy? ? Robert Duffy
That?s a tough one. I go with PC?s but only because I can put a good system together spending less money than buying a comparable Apple machine. Keep these things in mind. There are almost no viruses written for MAC OSX (Unix based). There are few compatibility problems with peripherals due to Apple?s proprietary habits. It?s much easier to illegally download all sorts of expensive programs for PC?s. If you know what you?re doing, you won?t catch PC viruses. Mac file formats are the standard for the print industry. If money were no option, I?d probably go with the Apple. (Duffy Says: I took Donny’s advice and bought the powerbook)
Let’s call the company I work for Company A. Company A is a subsidiary of Company B. Company B is made up of union and non-union employees. Company B’s union is set to go on strike and Company B is set to fill in the spots of striking employees with people from my company, Company A. I don’t know that I want to be a scab and cross the picket line and yet I have a family to support (we’re a single income household). It’s possible that I may be sent out of town to fill a spot. What should I do? ? Chip
Integrity is important, but so is taking care of your family. If you feel all other morally and legally acceptable options won?t cut it, consider the scab route.
After one eats a bowl of cereal, should one drink the milk, or dump the milk.? – Smallfry
Drink it.
About once a month, for the last two years, I wake up and find my bed and my bedroom covered in Dr Pepper. Is this normal? ? MrsChildren
Very Normal. Don?t worry about it, and don?t question it.
About once a month I have painstaking desire to douse a room in a sticky soda then I blackout. Is this normal? – BAVox1
This is another common human desire that should fulfilled at least once per month.
Why does Satan get into the minds of some women to make them think it is okay to kill babies? ? Moesha
Satan iZ dA bEzt. Don?t ask for an explanation ?cause I ain?t got one.
Why do the threads in this message board always derail? – Kiesha
That?s the way of the world, mama.
Hey, wanna go see The Passion of the Christ with me? I hear it’s dope. ? CharlesJunk
No. I saw it. I don?t need to see it again.
What the Hell? – EQJ
You know what the hell, you son of a bitch. Now git outta here. Go on. Git!
