Kopaz Van + Gear Stolen

From the band:

KEVIN OF KOPAZ HAD HIS VAN STOLEN SOMETIME ON SUNDAY NIGHT, MARCH 7TH!!!!

We lost 2 Fender Rhodes Pianos with extension cabs.

Trinae of Frostiva was nice enough to let us borrow her amp and it was stolen as well. I believe it was a roland 212 combo amp.

If you know any information, please let us know as soon as possible. Sean works at Music Go Round Morse Rd. He can be reached nearly everyday at 473-0100.

PLEASE. iF YOU COULD BE NICE ENOUGH TO SPREAD THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS OR ANYBODY YOU KNOW, WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP.

UPDATE: If you’d like to donate money to the band, you can do so on their label’s site. Or you can buy their new album from them. Anything would help.

I Guess the Vines Are A Little Nutty

I don’t have much of an opinion of the Vines. I thought they had a catchy song or two, but for the most part they’re not really swimming inside my thoughts.

But they have a new album coming out soon, and with that comes an interview with The Guardian. Here’s a few of my favorite quotes from the band:

  • “What do I get mad about?” says Nicholls. “Like, if I’m wearing jeans and Patrick is wearing jeans, it’s like fuck you! I’m wearing jeans today! And we have fights with Hamish because he wears T-shirts with four-letter words on them and we don’t think that’s appropriate. Also,” he says, warming to his theme, “he’s taken a lot of acid and he’s always talking about it. Hamish is the weirdest, but it’s not his fault. He’s done something to his brain and he can’t get back.” He laughs uproariously. “Great drummer, though.”
  • “I always say to the other guys, if you want to throw a TV out of a hotel room window, then do it just before you leave the hotel, because there might be something you want to watch.”
  • “We’re all as messed up as each other. Yeah.”

The full interview is here. It’s a pretty good interview, even if you’re like and don’t give a toss about the band one way or another.

  • Never Trust an Old Hippy

David Crosby was picked up last night after his show in Jersey. His crime? Bag o’ weed and a .45 tucked in his suitcase.

    Kopaz Are So Dreamy

Kopaz are celebrating the release of their new album tomorrow, and we’ve been garunteed that the show will be one for the record books.

Donewaiting.com interviews the band here and reviews the new album here.

    Downloads for the soul:

  • Kopaz “Kismet” and “Uniform”
  • Nels Cline Joining Wilco’s Live Show

Holy crap, dudes. Nels Cline is going to be playing live with Wilco “for the foreseeable future”. Are you excited as me? You should be.

Nels Cline from The Geraldine Fibbers, one of my favorite bands ever. Nels Cline from Scarnella, another great band. Nels Cline from the Nels Cline Trio/Nels Cline Singers/Nels Cline EVERYTHING. He’s by far one of the greatest experimental guitarists I’ve ever seen live, and having him added to the Wilco live show just proves in my mind, once again, that Wilco rules our asses.

Check out the mad cred Nels Cline has by reading his discography. This dude has played with everyone who is cool.

  • Here’s a bunch of Nels Cline MP3s. Download one of my favorites here: Scarnella’s “Millennium Fever Ballad”

I might lose my mind while in Texas, I swear to god.

    Separate’s Always Better

Andre 3000 Wants To Attend Juilliard. Now, Gwen Stefani has made me think up some crazy shit before, but nothing involving a clarinet.

    Er. .. yet.

    R.E.M. Confessionals

Could be good or awful, I’m not sure:

On Thursday, March 4th, at 8pm (ET) MTV2 will host “MTV2 Album Covers” featuring Dashboard Confessional playing songs from R.E.M.’s “Automatic For the People.” The set includes a performance by Michael who joins in on vocals on an R.E.M. number and a Dashboard Confessional song. Please be sure to check local listings.
