What Did I Hate About the Super Bowl?

I hated the whole Justin/Janet thing. I hated that they denied it wasnt planned. I hated that MTV and CBS apologized. I hated that NFL is FURIOUS!!! I hate that the FCC is investigating.

I hate that I’m even writing this.

I also hate that the advertisers of the world get chumps like me excited to see a freaking commercial.

If Justin/Janet would just come out and be like “Yeah, we did it, WHAT UP?” I’d give them a little more credibility. But they’re not doing that, so F them.

It was sort of like watching your grandmother get fondled, right?

Where Can I Get In On Some of that Pepsi iTunes Love?

Q: How do I find ?Pepsi iTunes Music Giveaway? game pieces?

A: Look under the cap of specially-marked 20-oz. and 1-liter bottles of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Sierra Mist available at convenience stores, grocery stores, 7-Eleven stores and other retail locations. Select 7-Eleven stores may also feature game pieces under the rim of specially-marked 32-oz. Big Gulp or Slurpee Cups. Specially-marked vending machines may contain 20-oz. Pepsi, Diet Pepsi or Sierra Mist bottles with game prize stickers.

Next Outkast Album

Outkast are telling people that their next album will be a joint effort, not two solo works combined. I don’t believe it.

Two Star Courtney

You know the album is gonna be bad when even Rolling Stone is giving the new Courtney Love album two stars.

Aussie Rock Invasion

Two of the hottest bands from Australia to invade the U.S. since … um … Silverchair and … um … oh well, forget that. The Vines and Jet are teaming up to lay waste to America by ripping through a number of recycled riffs from the some of the greatest bands of the last 30 years. (As an Ohio citizen I’d like to point out that, once again, the Buckeye state has been passed over, at least it has on the initial list of tour dates.)

Faking It

The New York Times writes up an extensive piece about musicians lip syncing at their concerts and television performances. Read it here.

My favorite quote: “Tell me, who can sing hanging on a harness upside-down?”

Jean Grae is Pissed Off

Our dearest Jean Grae, arguably the best indie female rapper around, isn’t happy with what’s going on in the rap industry.

“I hate this industry. I hate the music business because it has shit to do with music.”

Word.

Wilco edges ever closer to becoming a power trio, can seven minute songs about trees be far behind?

Leroy Bach has left Wilco.

Minus: Bach played lotsa different stuff and they’ll miss that, also he is super mellow and nice and provided a nice contrast to Tweedy’s more surly moments.
Plus: parting seems amicable.
Minus: due to amicable parting no cool black and white documentary will be forthcoming…

Papa don't take no mess?
