Live 8 is over and everyone knows there’s poverty in the world. Now everyone wants to know: where can I download performances from the show?

Stupid comments, my wife is kenyan and l have spent long periods in africa. I have seen the poverty and suffering many people dont know where the next drink of water will come from. We are very lucky in europe and take normal things for granted. My deepest thanks go out to all artists who took part in live 8 to bring this to the attention of the world.
Agreed. Hating on Live 8 and the performers therein is pretty spineless. I’d like to know what those who think it’s all a joke have done to help make the world a better place.
My problem with Live8 is that the concerts didn’t charge any admission. Raising awareness is good, but will people look back and say “That was a great concert” or “Awareness was brought to the next level.” Time will tell, I guess.
Also, the artists getting very elaborate gift bags seems a little counterproductive.
The gift bags are a necessary evil these days. It’d be nice if that tradition had never started, but it’s too late to undo now.

I was at that concert in Giants Stadium. I think I got a free ticket so I felt sorta guilty about that. (but I did buy a tshirt)
Also, about the gift bags, maybe you’re right, although I couldn’t see Coldplay or any artist asking what the giftbag was before they agree to do a show (but you could be right)…
