I hadn’t performed by myself in a while. It feels very natural to me, and I assume people come for the very same reasons as they do when I’m with the band: to be moved, for something to happen to them. So I think the same things that make people plunk down their hard-earned bucks for the tickets, it works both ways. You’re looking for an experience and something that contextualises, as best as possible, a piece of the world. I’m just taking a different road to it out there at night.
