Awhile back we wrote about Wind-Up Records not releasing the back catalog of the Wrens to their current label, Absolutely Kosher. Instead, these albums sit in legal hell, not being available to anyone.
Well, our San Francisco writer Craig Ness contacted Wind-Up about it and this is what they told him:
A Wind-up company spokesperson commented, “Mr. Meltzer has always been a huge fan of the Wrens and congratulates both The Wrens and Absolutely Kosher Records on the remarkable success of “The Meadowlands” album. Wind-up is currently considering re-releasing several titles from the Grass catalogue in the very near future, including the two Wrens albums, “Secaucus” and “Silver”. We wish the band continued success.
We’ll see.
That is the exact wording i’ve seen in a number of articles on the subject. They must have a script by the phone…
