Return of the Donewaiting.com SXSW Music Festival Blog

Alright, we’ve relaunched our 2006 SXSW Music Festival Blog. This will be our third year covering the festival, and during this time we’ve somehow become quite the destination for all things SXSW.

I’m already getting excited about the festival. Can’t wait.

Template Evolution

On the right rail of this page, below the ads, you’ll see links of the last ten posts from the donewaiting.com network of blogs. We have about 10 blogs on the site, and I know it’s hard to keep track, so hopefully this will make it easier to see what’s new and current.

(rss readers, this won’t mean too much for ya…)

First Wave of Australian and New Zealand Bands Announced

The Australians and New Zealand peeps always put on great showcases, and I’m sure 2006 won’t be any different.

Sarah Blasko and The Living End are amongst the first Australian and New Zealand acts confirmed for the event. Around 40 acts from Australia and New Zealand are expected to be accepted for SxSW 2006.

Also included in the first round announcement are The Bats, The Saints, The Morning After Girls, The Brunettes, Grey Daturas, Decoder Ring, Die! Die! Die!, Flight of the Conchords, The Gear, The Grates, Ryan McPhun and the Ruby Suns, New Buffalo, Sia and Wolf and Cub. (full story)

Hotels Filling Up Already

If you look at the hotel list, you’ll see the joints are already sold out, and it’s not even December.

Be vigilant, do not waste time. Reserve your stuff now. This year is gonna probably be the biggest ever.

We’re Baaaaack

This is the third year donewaiting.com will be covering the SXSW Music Festival. We’re getting pretty good at it, and somehow this little blog from Columbus OH has become a top destination for information on the festival.

So bookmark us, add us to your RSS readers, and let’s get ready.
