SECRETLY CANADIAN SHOWCASE & MORE @ SXSW
On Saturday, March 18th, Secretly Canadian will play host to a showcase at Emo’s outdoors during the SXSW Music Festival. New signees Catfish Haven, Richard Swift and Chosen Darkness will all be performing, as well as two Jagjaguwar guests, Pink Mountaintops andOkkervil River. The lineup is as follows:

The fun begins the week before, though, as Secretly Canadian and Misra Records will be hosting a showcase specifically for the SXSW Film Fest. The show is open and free to all who have a film fest badge. A nominal entrance fee for all others. Sunday, March 12 Emo’s Indoors. Catfish Haven and I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness will be representing SC, Shearwater and a special guest will be there for Misra.
Additionally, Richard Swift and Horns of Happiness will make appearances from 1-4pm on Friday, March 17th at End of an Ear Records. The afternoon will be hosted by Secretly Canadian and Misra, as Phosphorescent and South San Gabriel plan to perform as well.
Is the Secretly Canadian thing an evening show? I’m thinking maybe not, since Shearwater is on at midnight, logically the same time as Okkervil’s penultimate slot, at Red’s Scoot Inn, and the bands share two principal members. Plus Okkervil is supposed to be on at midnight at Red’s Scoot Inn on the Thursday, and I doubt they’re doing two evening showcases…
