I’m pretty sure James McMurtry will be in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Wenesday. The Chronicle asked him to play the Music Awards on Wednesday night, and he couldn’t because of the Fayetteville gig.
Shannon, no need to worry — James will be at Guitartown/conqueroo before heading to the airport for Fayetteville. And he’ll be back on Thursday to play his SXSW showcase, Thurs., March 16, 12 midnight at Antone’s. Trust me on this.
Wow, is the band going to be with him? My dad’s in James’ band and he didn’t mention anything about it… maybe you know more about his shcedule than he does! I knew that they would be back for the Antones Showcase, but I had no idea that Fayetteville was going to be such a quick turn-around.
I just spoke with Dad, and the guys had no idea that they were supposed to play this show. When I said something the other day, it was the first they had heard about it. They are, in fact, driving to Fayetteville tomorrow night and will leave Arkansas with barely enough time to make it back for their midnight show at Antones. Methinks you have a bone to pick with Frank Riley!
Okay, last post. Nevermind, the band is driving and James is flying because he is going to play this show. It’s gonna be a solo acoustic thing, so that’s why the band didn’t know about it. Sorry for the confusion!
