So at the big daytime interviews, what are the chances of getting an autograph? In other words, should I bring along some of my Beastie Boys vinyl?
Also, any word on whether music badgers are going to be able to buy a wristband? They were still hemming and hawing as of a week or two ago…
why would a badger need a wristband?

It has been hot… 90 degree mark the last two days I’ve been here for the film fest. Supposed to cool down a bit, and then maybe rain(!) … although I know the town needs it, I’m playing Thurs night outside at the Undertow showcase at Habana Calle 6.
I was told over email that they’ll give badge-holders a chance to buy one (1) extra wristband at the time of their registration, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Which I think means they’ll be gone by Tuesday afternoon.
so is this magazine show at cedat street a free day show or what. Do you need wristbands?

has anyone heard that Deathcab for Cutie is playing? There was an ad in Seattle’s The Stranger wishing the Seattle SXSW bands good luck and it mentioned DCFC?
Also, I can’t seem to find Hard Fi’s showcase. Am I blind?

Today I was told by the registration desk (3 different people) there will be *some* wristbands for badge holders, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to buy one with your Platinum badge or any other badge. There will be two lines and if any wristbands are available, you’ll get it for $150 instead of $175.
10am tomorrow is what I was told an hour ago.
Hard-Fi cancelled. Levi/Fader party is artist badge only. Filter parties at Cedar Street are wristband and/or badges, but they stress getting there early. Weather is gonna be awesome.
One freakin’ more day of work. I’m too excited to sleep…
for those who dont have wristbands, is it possible to find any for sale when i get there? im dying to go to the filter day show.
Would anyone mind giving me a rundown of how the whole admission thing works? I’m a SXSW newbie. What does a badge get you? What about a wristband? What’s the difference? In other words, in terms of people lined up at the door, who gets in first? Who gets in second? Etc. And, do they ever sell single tickets to people who don’t have any sort of badge/wristband?
Thanks. Also, if someone could put this all into context of like, trying to go see Echo and the Bunnymen (likely a hot show – ie, how hard will it be to get in?)… that would be cool too.
Anyone can see Echo and the Bunnymen…it’s a free show at Auditorium Shores. Regarding the rest of how SXSW works (a little late to the game, are you?), badges get priority entrance over wristbands who get priority entrance over single day tickets (if the venue is selling single day tickets). At larger venues, they’ll have separate lines for badges and wristbands. And like most things, you get what you pay for…badge holders will not spend half the night standing in line or getting shut out of ‘badge only’ showcases.
Hastings in Round Rock will be hosting an in-store performance and signing with Page France (Fall Records) on Sunday, 3/19 at 5pm.

One caveat on badge holders never standing outside waiting to get in, I did with a Platinum badge last year because I spent too long watching Film School on 6th, like all of 20 min, to get into the 9pm Kaiser Chiefs La Zona Rosa show. Nothing sucks worse than standing outside in line, with no other clubs around, when great music is happening inside. I did get in to see Louis XIV and the Futureheads and foolishly left before The Doves (to see 6 other bands that night instead.)
So badges caveat emptor as well.

The Reverend Peytons Big Damn Band will be at Habana Calle 6 Patio on Friday at 10 pm. I am for sure there, any other suggestions around it?
