Here’s a quick rundown of what I did yesterday.
10am: Panel – What’s Hot in Web Applications – Pretty good panel, although everyone seems to have wacky names for their products.
11am: Panel – Meet Judy Jetson: How Technology is Transforming 21st Century Teens – This panel was moderated by my good friend Anastasia so I might be biased. Lots of fun. The teens really were well spoken, good kids. (Chip saw the cute girl from Survivor:Season One – Colleen.)
12:30pm: Lunch – Mongolian BBQ – Met up with Taylor of Podbop, a great website that blends mp3s/podcasting/event calendars. I think someone from CNN was at our lunch table too, but I didn’t talk to her much.
2pm: Panel – Jason Kottke + Dooce Keynote – Kottke.org is one of my daily visits on the web so it was good to see the person behind it.
3pm: Walkabout – Interactive and Film Trade Show – There are a few interesting things like listening stations to hear all of the bands playing the music festival, but other than that it’s a bit on the underwhelming side.
3:30pm: Celebrity – David Cross Autograph – Along time ago my girlfriend was able to get David Cross to sign a comedy CD of his. Shorlty after, someone stole it out of her car. I was able to get her a new autograph today which was a great score. “Dear Kiesha, Don’t let this book get stolen! David Cross”
4:30pm: Documentary – Fired! – Good but maybe 20 minutes too long. Or it was the slightly (SLIGHTLY) uncomfortable chairs at the convention center.
7pm: Retail – Waterloo Records – Bought the new Centro-matic and Black Angels EP.
7:30pm: Dinner – Waterloo Ice House – Lots of beer.
9pm: Film – The Lost – I really gave this film a chance, but I just didn’t like it. On the plus side, walking into the theater and seeing all the free beer, chips, chicken wings and fries that the audience was given to for free was a magical moment.
