Over on the Decemberists’ MySpace page, you can download the demo of the first part of The Tain.
The band says:
Additionally, the band is happy to announce that the Decemberists’ Myspace page will no longer be gathering e-dust out there in the virtual ether, untouched by any band-related hand aside from the clumsy paws of Roger, the trained ferret and Decemberist Myspace Manager, who apparently only accepted the invitations of new friends if they happened to be of a sympathetic species. Mr. Chris Funk (aka Crutchy McGee) will now be maintaining the site on a regular basis. As a token of our graciousness to you, Dear Reader, for being patient with us and with Roger, we’ve uploaded a tasty little song to our Myspace page: the original demo of the first part of the Tain, recorded at home by Colin. And yes, that snare sound is in fact a saucepan lid in slow motion.
YES! I love the Decemberists and was scared for a while there that they weren’t going to come out with any new material(or at least any good material). I can sleep easy again.
