i think it’s brilliant. everyone’s pissed off about it and that was obviously one of his goals. just read his blog for crying out loud. and then listen to the end of the record. it’s marvelous.
sgt. pepper and pet sounds are two of my favorite albums ever, if not the top two, but i would still hate this even if they weren’t. the problem being that the songs don’t actually fit together and it sounds like shit. if you’re going to do something “controversial” to get attention, maybe do something worth listening to on it’s own. and yeah, pretty much anyone could make a more interesting record than some moron trying to “shake things up” by making poorly meshed crap out of the two best/most important albums ever recorded.
It’s almost as if the radio station just keeps changing back and forth or this guy just switched the fader from left to right. There is nothing fluid about this at all…
i love both these albums, and i have no problem with mashups. but this is a shitty mashup. that’s all.

Doesn’t quite work for me. Good mashups add a kind of synergy – bringing out hidden elements of the originals. This is just messy.

it’s featured on entertainment weekly and it’s by some guy nobody’s ever heard of….this is total genius and it sounds like the future. if dancing’s all you care about, there’s no doubt this isn’t for you.
