Let’s get one thing clear: there’s only one Kyle Sowash, although the name of his band might suggest otherwise. Or is Kyle trying to tell us that there is a little Kyle Sowash in every one of us? Hmmm……
Kyle is a Columbus OH institution. Dude is out at every show in town, supporting the local scene in just about every way. On top of that, he also brings in a lot of national bands to Columbus that would otherwise pass up the town. If you’ve seen Voxtrot, Headlights, Richard Buckner or the upcoming Portastatic show, you can thank Kyle for all of those.
He’s releasing a new seven inch record today on Manup Records and it’s a great listen. Kyle’s music reminds me of “Vee Vee” era Archers of Loaf, with a slant towards making really emotional, complex songs out of simple subject matter.
