It’s a good weekend for local shows (local being Columbus, of course), from the Lost Weekend Records Anniversary extravaganza to the Donewaiting/UWeekly sponsored Stephen Slaybaugh and Kevin Elliott’s Bands to Watch 2007 showcase. If you’re looking to get the weekend started early, Oldfield’s is hosting a CD release for The Bottoms. With a penchant for beer-fueled college rock circa ’92 (ala The Replacement, Goo Goo Dolls, Greenhorn, Watershed), The Bottoms aren’t regulars to the scene due to lead singer Andy Hindman’s “real” job as a member of the Goo Goo Dolls road crew. Hindman reports the Goos will be on the road for 8 months in 2007 which means this very well could be one of the few chances to see The Bottoms this year.
The Happy Hour show is from 6 to 9 with The Bottoms taking the stage at 7pm (no other acts will perform during the Happy Hour). The Bottoms will be performing music from their second release, Second Album (hey, there’s an original title), which will also be for sale. Oh yeah … it’s free admission!
Check out a few new tunes from Second Album over on The Bottoms MySpace page.
NICE LATE POST.
