In one of many cases like it, a Hyde Park man has filed suit against Clear Channel Communications and its former concert-promotion arm, alleging that the Texas company parlayed its market dominance to jack up concert ticket prices excessively.
The suit was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati by Daniel Woodring, who is described as a ticket buyer to “one or more” rock concerts promoted by the defendants in the “middle Ohio River region.” His suit seeks to represent everyone who bought tickets to rock concerts in Kentucky, Indiana and the western half of Ohio beginning in June 1998.
