I am in the category of people who have loved every single release by Badly Drawn Boy. His new album, Born in the UK, comes out later this month and I’ve been listening to it almost nonstop for the last few days.
The last song on the album, “One Last Dance,” has so far hit me the most. The song is a tribute to the club where he met his wife, and there’s so many lyrical references that struck a chord with me. Love, too many funerals (I’ve been to too many funerals over the last two years….), the future, all things that are always on my mind, and probably yours.
Also, I really love this simple lyric the ends the song (and the album): “And if we don’t have a plan let’s just listen to ‘Thunder Road'”
