I’ve often sat home at night, alone, wondering why the INXS show was able to get a large majority of top 40 songs while American Idol was forced into the cut bin catalog.
Luckily, New York Times has an answer. It basically boils down to musicians not wanting their songs massacred William Hung-style on Idol while the INXS camp was able to convince them that real, talented people would be singing the songs on their show.
So there you go.
Also, the show was tanking in the beginning of the season but it has slowly built a following. Personally, I think the whole show is a bit on the wonky side, but hey, I TiVo “The Price is Right.”
