Thanks to all of you who sent this one in..
Filter Magazine is proud to announce our annual SXSW day time party line-up. Last year we hit you with two full days of rock ‘n roll in shades of brit-pop, indie rock and all that lies in between with a light beer-induced buzz that provided you with the best two days of your life (in March of 2005, anyway). This year we’re doing it again, but, naturally, better. This year we will be having not 2, but 3 days of music at our lovely Cedar Street Courtyard residence. This year’s parties are brought to you by Amp’d Mobile, Puma, Ben Sherman, ASCAP and KCRW.com. So, without further ado, here’s the line-up:

Vega 4As if that wasn’t enough, we are also keeping you guessing with a secret surprise headliner that will close (and hopefully literally bring the house down) the Saturday night show.
talking heads?
anyone know what it takes to get into this party? nothing? wristband? badge? private invite?
i hear it is invite only…
Is this day or night? Day and night? not clear
I’d assume it’s daytime…I know last year they had daytime shows as invite only at the Cedar Street courtyard as well, where bands like The Soundtrack of Our Lives performed…I didn’t go down to them but I’m just wondering how loud it must be around the periphery–doesn’t that sound just roar out of the courtyard for everyone around that block?
good point. the stage at cedar steet IS outside and and it points toward the front entrance, so standing on the sidewalk just in front of the entrance provides a fine listening position.
On Vega 4’s profile page on the SXSW site it says, “They will be supporting Snow Patrol at Stubbs on March 17th, and are joining the likes of The Subways, Nine Black Alps and Snow Patrol at the Filter Magazine party on March 18th.” So I think the “special guest” for the Filter party is going to be Snow Patrol.
what night is Built to Spill playing?
I heard that Gang of Four is playing a private show with Mark Ronson and Steve Aoki on Saturday…has anyone heard this? A friend said she found it on the LA Craigslst.
Page Hamilton (Helmet) said that Gang of Four was playing at midnight tonight (Saturday) but wasn’t sure where.
