Flatstock is a great, free event that will take all your money.
Co-presented by the American Poster Institute (API) and South by Southwest (SXSW), FLATSTOCK 8 will display the works of more than 100 artists from across North America. Posters representing decades of styles, colors and techniques will be on display and for sale.
The best concert posters have always captured both the essence of the music they promoted and the spirit of the time in which they were produced. Flatstock provides the general public with an ongoing series of opportunities to see fine poster art in person and to meet the artists who created it.
My advice is to walk the entire floor before making any purchasing decisions. The first year I went to Flatstock I went a little loopy, buying everything in sight. I have a lot of great stuff, but it put me in debt.
While there, definitely visit the booth by donewaiting.com art director Clint Reno. It’s his first time selling/showcasing posters, so give him a little love. His posters are amazing.
