Doubtful. I chatted with Scott McCaughey for a while, and he said they (The Minus 5, which includes Peter Buck) were off to New Orleans to play tomorrow night.
I managed to get Peter’s autograph, though. Neko Case was at the show and about a foot from me the whole time, but I didn’t say anything because I was afraid I would gush.
Anyone know if the Flaming Lips will be playing again this weekend? I heard a rumor that they might show up at the Parish tomorrow, but not sure when? Unfortunately I missed their show @ Eternal (and only caught the end of the Fox & Hound set). If anyone knows ANYTHING…please let me know!!!
Beastie Boys played yesterday at Stubbs at 7pm. Word got out through an Austin Chronicle article and SXSW official announced it through the SMS text alerts around 5pm, I think. There was a huge badge line, but they started letting the poor hapless wristband holders (i.e. people like me) in around 6:50 or so, even though the badge line was still in full effect. They were counting people off wristbands when they came in (I was 91), so I’d hazard a guess that they had some pre-determined number of wristbands to let in the mix.
Good show, though. They were a bit messy at point, but a hell of a lot of fun!

I read in the Statesmen this morning about a rumor that Gang of Four will be playing a private party at the Beauty Bar. No other details though…
According to the Lips there are no more shows “planned” … the Fox&Hound and the Eternal were the only shows on the radar.

just heard a rumor that Jeff Mangum is playing at the Blender Balcony at 9pm with a band from Florida called Humbert.
