It Came from the Comments – SXSW Music Updates

Got a bunch of comments to this post yesterday. Here’s how I’d rate them.

COUNT ON IT
– Free Agency/Terrorbird Media party March 16th @ Lucky Lounge: Marnie Stern, Castanets, Ecstatic Sunshine, Panther, Mae-Shi.
– Kill Rock Stars showcase March 17th: Marnie Stern, Erase Errata, Mika Miko, Macromantics.
Demander will be there.
– Mando Diao will be there, too.
– So will VNV Nation.
– And Brett Dennen
Land of Talk too!
Peter Elkas as well.

QUESTIONABLE BUT I HOPE IT’S TRUE
– Butthole Surfers Rooftop Reunion

I’D PAY SO MUCH MONEY TO ACTUALLY SEE THIS
– “Finally there will be a one off show performing the entire Joy Division “Closer” album by a UK super ensemble made up of members of Art Brut, Bloc Party, Editors and Arctic Monkeys with the lead vocals covered by David Hasselhoff. ”

  1. Gibby is an Austin resident I believe. A butthole Surfers gig atop the Blind Pig like the Burden Brothers did a couple years back would be awesome. Also someone posted in the comments about Kings of Leon. The link confirming their SXSW appearance is here: http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/sxswreports/

  2. Daniel Johnston will also attend SXSW.
