So, what’s new with Phantods? Besides releasing the video and MP3 for “Music is Dead” (above), the band was recently picked as an “Ohio Band You Should Be Listening To” by Paste Magazine. They’re hoping to book some East Coast shows this summer, and currently are set to perform May 26 @ Woodlands in Columbus, OH along with She Bears and Joshua P. James & the Paper Planes.

Listen: The Black Swans “Portsmouth, Ohio”

The Black Swans are wasting no time, releasing a second album in as many years on Misra Records. Titled Occasion For Song, it comes out July 16 and “deals with the death of founding member and violinist Noel Sayre. Noel died tragically in a swimming accident in Portsmouth, Ohio – July of 2008”

The first song being streamed, “Portsmouth Ohio”, chronicles the day of Noel’s death. Listen below and keep reading for upcoming tour dates.
