Juanas Addicion y Liz Phair y Spin tambien

This month’s Spin magazine has got a pretty snazzy oral history of Jane’s Addiction that is well worth checking out. It also has a brief interview with Liz Phair that actually goes a long way to putting her new disc into context and at least offering all the naysayers — including me — some justification that is difficult to argue with regarding her new direction.

Just think, just one year ago if you had told me that this year Jane’s Addiction would be releasing a pretty good album, Liz Phair would be releasing a pretty bad album and Spin would actually have up to two decent articles in their magazine I would have called you cuckoo!

Silly me.

Pearl Jam and me…and you!

Sometimes it’s good to work for the man…I’ve just been given two tickets to a private box at next Wednesday’s Pearl Jam concert here in Chicago. What does that mean to you loyal Done Waiting blurkers — other than the fact you’re all so happy I’m so lucky? It means a big ol’ spanking review of the Chicago show in the Lost In Guyville column next week!

Between me and Duffy we’ll create enough text to make you think Radiohead doesn’t exist, if even for a minute.

This Just In…Chicago Loves Columbus

Well, at least I think so. There’s finally a new Lost In Guyville entry discussing — among other things — New York, Columbus, Chicago, The Starlight Mints, Anti-Smoking Laws, live music, Mike Watt, The Datsuns, The Coral, The Paybacks, The Stepford Five and, of course, strippers.

I may be an infrequent contributor as of late but at least I try to make up for lost time with long winded posts.

As M. Duffy would say, make with the clicky.
