So the Arcade Fire Was on NPR

Among other things, they covered a Magnetic Fields song and you can download all the songs in glorious mp3.

Want to see a photo of Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake, and a dude from Def Leppard?

Yeah, I thought you did.

Camper Van Beethoven Gear Stolen Again

No, I’m not reporting an old story. It was stolen AGAIN. I believe this is the third or fourth time on the tour. Full details here.

How’s that old saying go? “Get my gear stolen once, shame on me…”

Another Pepsi/iTunes Promotion?

Sounds like it.

Hey, remember when that dude figured out how to tip the Pepsi bottle and see what the number is without actually buying the Pepsi? That was fun.

UPDATE: The new site is live.

Want to Download the New Beck Album?

Well, go here then.

Not sure if this is the final version, demos, or whatever. But what I do know is that it’s new Beck songs.

(I doubt this link will make it through tomorrow)

Donewaiting.com Disposable Radio Show Podcast #4

This one is extra special because I was able to patch in Los Angeles writer Han Q. Duong to be my co-host. I love technology. Go to the show now!

So, what will you hear? Worldwide debuts by Miranda Sound (from the donewaiting.com album out next month) and The Evil Queens!

But wait, there’s more! Hear new music from The Decemberists, Sleater Kinney and Spoon! And listen to Ane Brun’s song that sticks in my head for day’s on end.

Check it out here and be sure to send us some feedback.

Urge Overkill cancels all tour dates and says "buh-bye" to their manager.

This just in and hot off the press:

We apologize for any inconvenience, but the Valentine’s Day show at the Viper Room and any other US shows that may have been booked have been cancelled. Urge Overkill has parted ways with their manager, and are currently writing new material and preparing to record the much-awaited new record! Their previous manager, Beth Winer, will be handling their affairs until a new full-time manager is found. Rest assured, however, that the U.R.G.E. train is still rolling and there are plenty of great things to come! (full story)

Word on the street is that their New Year’s Eve show was less — quite a bit less — than sold-out so I wonder if that has anything to do with the band sacking their manager since he’s also their booking agent? As always, more details as thery emerge.

Bright Eyes Feature in the New York Times

I didn’t realize the dude was only 24.

If you’re looking for a symbol of the new sincerity, it’s hard to do better than Conor Oberst, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter who has spent the last decade recording audacious hyper-romantic songs under the name Bright Eyes. One early song, “Padraic My Prince,” used the (fictional) drowning death of his baby brother as an analogy for getting dumped. By 2002, he had already amassed a cult of rabid Conorians, who hung on his every lament, but he wanted more. So he recorded “Lifted, or the Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground” (Saddle Creek), a tangled treatise on love and faith and truth, full of ragged orchestra crescendos and yawping finales. New Donewaiting.com T-Shirt and Site Logo!

I would post it here, but I’d have to shrink it down in size. Head on over here to see it.

We’ll have the shirts available at our two year anniversary/album release event on February 5, and hopefully be selling them online, too.

Clint Reno strikes again!
