Dreaming About Beck the Scientologist

I dreamed about Beck the other night. In this dream, he was promoting his new album coming out in a few months (I think?), and he decided to go the Tom Cruise Mission Impossible Route — talking about scientology on every TV show, jumping around on Oprah, and even converting Franz Ferdinand to join the religion.

This is why I normally don’t write about my dreams.

Snow Patrol Postpones Tour

Gary Lightbody, Snow Patrol singer, posted a message on the Snow Patrol MySpace blog giving the reason behind the postponement of the band’s North American tour.

ALL NORTH AMERICAN DATES POSTPONED!!

I saw the doctor again yesterday afternoon. The news is bad. My vocal chords dont seem to have heeled at all. The polyps are still there and my singing voice is extremely weak. Whats new? I hear from cheap seats. Indeed.

Im so sorry about this but Ive been advised by the doctor to not do any shows for a month. I may also need surgery but the initial suggestion from the doc is for me to rest at home for that time and see how I am in a few weeks.

Ive also seen a voice coach here in New York who has given me some vocal exercises to help me heal and build up the strength of the voice. His advice on Wednesday was also preferably for me to take a month off.

I hope you all understand that if I could do this tour right now I would but Im worried to go against doctors advice would lead to serious, even irreversible, problems further down the line.

Thank you all for your messages on the forum wishing me a speedy recovery it means a lot.

Our agent Marty has worked 24 hours straight pretty much to get these shows rebooked. God bless you Marty. They will take place in September and they will call in every town we have missed this time round and two others San Diego and Las Vegas. Your original tickets will still be valid of course. We will tell you the confirmed dates on Monday or Tuesday and when the tickets go on sale for the new shows.

Lots of love, gary.x

Tim Easton

Tim Easton recently released his latest album, “Ammunition”. I’ve only given it a casual listen so far, but I like what I’ve heard – it sounds more like his live show which is a good thing.

Here’s some links for you to get you through the weekend:

Mini Documentary: YouTube video on the making of the new album
NPR Concert: Four live songs recorded by World Cafe.
Music: Listen to songs from the new album.

Peeping in windows all across the world.

peeping_tom.jpgMike Patton is taking his Peeping Tom project on the road! I dig the album but have to admit it’s not really holding up all that well upon repeated spins. However after seeing them on the televisionmaset the other night I think one can safgely assume the live show will kick it where it quits it.
