Raveonettes Live Review in EMM

donewaiting.com’s very own Steve Miller gives us a great live review of a Raveonettes concert out there in the merry ol’ UK:

Although it isn?t really an album and I know its original Stateside release was in 2002, “Whip It On” is my favourite album of the year with its mix of 50s rock iconography and riffage sounding like the surf band from your darkest nightmares, and at 28 minutes short, it leaves you wanting more. Much more. On Sunday night they played the Freebutt in Brighton, a venue that is little more than a pub with a stage and one where, if 150 people are inside, it?s probably over capacity. It?s the kind of venue where you can see and feel the sweat on the ceiling, a venue where you can smell what brand of cigarette the singer is smoking, and a venue where, even if you?re standing at the back you probably still get a great view. Kind of makes you wish you were across the Atlantic, doesn’t it?
