I had this conversation with my girlfriend today: do you wear a band’s t-shirt at their show? Do you dust off your Even Flow tee for a Pearl Jam show? Break out your limited edition Guided by Voices tee for a GBV event?
As a rule, I normally don’t. In my mind I think it’s kinda lame. I like to go to Belle and Sebastian shows and wear Rage Against the Machine shirts, and vice versa. I probably do this to be all “Ha ha, you are fans but I am much cooler than you,” and that’s probably not a good thing. Bad Robert Duffy, bad.
So I’ve decided at the upcoming Yo La Tengo concert in Columbus next month I will wear a Yo La Tengo t-shirt. You’ve heard it here first. Pass this information along.
