Live Review: Throwing Muses in England

Our man with the UK plan, Steve Miller, offers up a live review of last night’s Throwing Muses concert in his donewaiting.com column, England Made Me:

Kristin?s singing Vicky?s Box from the Throwing Muses? first album and, in common with much of their oeuvre, halfway through it flips into a completely different song. The audience know where we?re going, the anticipation is tangible; the Astoria feels like it?s going to burst. Three minutes into the song, and Kristin sings ?Welcome Home?. The third time she sings it, or more accurately, screams it, is the cue for release. The tempo shifts up several dozen gears, the volume likewise and the audience go mental, switching from rapt attention to rabid moshpit as quickly as the band changed tack. (full review)

He also gives up the goods regarding a new band, Electrelane.
