Chip Midnight gives the world his opinion about the whole Radiohead leaked-MP3 situation on his donewaiting.com column, Atomic Ned. Here’s a small taste:
My question is, HOW DID THIS LEAK? The fact of the matter is that somebody that Radiohead trusted, either somebody closely affiliated with the band or somebody that works at the studio, leaked the material. Those are the only people that could have had access to the tracks, right? It may have started off innocently ? drummer Phil passes a demo CD off to his cousin to get his opinions of the work. The cousin makes a copy of the CD-R and passes it on to a co-worker. The co-worker, excited that he has the CD, makes it available for downloading. (full story)
I’m one of the people who have the evil MP3s in question, and they’re pretty good. Will I buy the record when it comes out? Yes. But do I own a Linkin Park t-shirt? Yes. Take my advice for what it’s worth.
