Tankboy returns with his review of a Ted Leo concert in Chicago:
Ted Leo hit the stage like a preacher on a mission and threw the room into a revivalist frenzy. Suddenly it was 1965 no 1982 no 1978 no 2003 and all the kids were dancing and clapping and behaving in a way totally unbecoming to this usual snootiest of indie crowds. While Ted occasionally strained for notes at the highest ends of his range such physical limitations were fully overcome by an outstandingly vigorous stage show led by random tambourine banging, syncopated and so complicated it seemed simple drumming and the bounciest rhythms on display that evening this side of the Mississippi.
