The Simon: What Went Wrong, Liz Phair?

Liz Phair’s crappy new album certainly has spawned a lot of great journalism:

Was being the indie queen really all that bad? I had no idea. Was being written about in universally glowing terms by the normally savage rock press that much of a turn-off? Was being the object of respect and adoration of a select junta of smart, educated, articulate, cynical, demanding, obsessive, cultural ayatollahs more oppressive than enjoyable?
