Six Parts Seven

Brian Straw, friend of donewaiting.com, got some publicity yesterday on Pitchfork for his current collaboration with Six Part Seven. It warms our hearts to see he and his band getting attention, and hope that more people will pay attention, too.

While you’re at it, download some solo Brian Straw songs here. You’ll be better off for it.

Queer Eye for the Spoon Guy

Forget being in The O.C. or Time Magazine. Spoon have truly arrived: their music was featured in tonight’s episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Bon Jovi: Arena Football Team Owner

Dear lord, why?

Bon Jovi will be co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul, an expansion Arena Football League team that will play next season in the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum … “I love football, always have,” said Bon Jovi, a New Jersey native. “It’s the only sport I really live and breathe.” (full story)

I mean, saying you love football and then buying an arena football team is equivalent of saying you like good music and buying the new Limp Bizkit CD, right?

Make it happen, sailors.

It?s a small world after all.

Don?t you just love when two huge media conglomerates decide that maybe they should make like the beast with two backs and narrow down an already claustrophobic sphere of influence?

We here at Done Waiting wish EMI and AOL Time Warner the best of luck! We?re always pulling for the little guys, y?know.

Rolling Stone Slams White Stripes Live Concert

I love the White Stripes: their music, their live show, everything. But I have to admit, I love the fact that Rolling Stone slammed them:

Jack and Meg White share a stage surname, a flair for feeding rumors, and a predilection for white and red color schemes. What they don’t share, unfortunately, is a talent for their respective instruments. (full story)

Say What? Frank Black

If you’re Frank Black, most people on the internet won’t believe you when you tell them the truth.

The rise and rise of Beatle Bob?

To those of you not in the know ? and that?d be most folks outside the Mid-West ? Beatle Bob is a dancing machine without compare. This man hits at least one show every night of the year if not more than one. He makes the term ?super fan? seem sorely lacking.

Well now Bob seems to be finally getting his moment in the spotlight since Guided By Voices put him in their video as seen here. You can also see a pic of him tearing up the dance floor with the one and only Daisy Glaze right here.

You wish you were that cool, don?tcha? Here?s hoping Bob?s happy feet infect pretentious head bobbin? indie-rockers ? like myself ? the world over!

It’s only a matter of time before Don Cornelius comes calling….
