Courtney Love Trial Date Postponed Yet Again

From Billboard:

“A hearing to determine whether Courtney Love will be tried on drug charges was postponed today (March 16), but not before the singer/actress had disrupted the proceedings and was admonished by the judge to keep quiet.”

When she entered the court room, she called out “Hello Judge Fox.” I like to think of her saying this in the same voice as Yakko and Wakko on ‘The Animaniacs’ when they used to call out, “Hellllllooooo Nurse!”

Courtney also blurted out, “I’ve got the bottles with me. I’ve got the prescriptions on me.” Read the full story.

First Fridays @ Uncle Joe’s

Breaking News:
Due to the success of February 6th’s Donewaiting.com Anniversary Party in Jersey City, I will be hosting a monthly event at Uncle Joe’s. From now through the rest of eternity, I suppose, the first Friday of every month will belong to Donewaiting and the Apetown.

Next party:
Friday, April 2

Uncle Joe’s
154 First St., Jersey City
Doors @ 9. 5 bucks.

Awesome bands:
10pm – Sasha Alcott & the Possibilities
11pm – Oxford Collapse
12pm – Rye Coalition

Oh yeah.

This will be a welcome-home party for Rye, who haven’t played in quite awhile. They’ve been back and forth between Jersey and LA, recording their next album, which was produced by Dave Grohl for Dreamworks. The last time they played at Uncle Joe’s, they had to plug their amps into the outlets in the apartments upstairs, and all the power went out. Please welcome them home.

This is going to be LOUD. (And sexy as all hell.)

Josh Homme changes name, gets even sexier, flies like an eagle.

Josh Homme?s new group The Eagles Of Death Metal ? in which he is known under a pseudonym ? is dropping their debut Peace Love Death Metal on Ipecac Records.

The group’s sound — guitar heavy, um, rock — won?t really shock, surprise or floor anyone in particular but it is a fun little disc.

Apple Sells 50 Million Songs

Looks like Apple is set to dominate the world.

“NEW YORK (Reuters) – Apple Computer Inc. said on Monday it has sold 50 million songs over the Internet in the 11 months since it launched its iTunes Music Store, putting it at least halfway toward its goal for the year.

Apple, which charges 99 cents a song, said it is currently selling 2.5 million songs per week, which would translate into 130 million songs per year, or about $130 million in annual revenue.” Read the full story.

Chuck D Joins Liberal Talk Radio Network

I’d love it if this network had the Zack De La Rocha Variety Show every night @ midnight.

The creators of a fledgling liberal talk radio network who hope to challenge the dominance of conservative voices on the nation’s airwaves said yesterday that its programming would make its debut on March 31 on low-rated stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

The network, known as Air America Radio, said its hosts would include Al Franken, the comedian and political satirist, whose program will be broadcast from noon to 3 p.m.; Janeane Garofalo, an actress whose program will be on from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Chuck D, a hip-hop artist, who will be a co-anchor of a morning program; and Martin Kaplan, a media analyst who has previously appeared on National Public Radio.
