Bands looking for press over the past 9 years were wise to send their CDs to Splendid, an on-line music ‘zine that promised to review everything that came through the doors. As the site’s popularity increased, so did the amount of music that was sent to the home headquarters and the site has finally felt the effect of making the promise to review every CD they got.
On December 31, 2005, Splendid will close up shop. The ‘zines publisher, George Zahora, is currently weighing some options and may move forward with a new on-line ‘zine in 2006, one that WON’T review every CD that comes in. If/when that site launches, we’ll let you know.
