MP3: Teenage Fanclub: Baby Lee

MP3: Baby Lee

I’m really excited to see Teenage Fanclub opening up for Belle and Sebastian in Brooklyn in a few months. The new album is great and while I never really listened to their earlier stuff (it slipped by me, SUE ME), this new record has been keeping me company on train rides all week.

  1. You should start with “Four Thousand Seven Hundred & Sixty Six Seconds” which is a Teenage Fanclub “greatest hits” compilation.

  2. Second that, 4766 Secs. is a pretty incredible resume for a band. If you like the early raw stuff, also get Catholic Education, the 1st LP. It’s different from the later more poppy sound, and only got one song on the comp.

  3. I say get bandwagonesque.

  4. Judging by that song it sounds like they went from trying to sound like Big Star to trying to sound like XTC. They don’t do it as well.
