Foo Fighters, oh Foo Fighters,

Foo Fighters, oh Foo Fighters, you make me happy, you make me sad

God I love their first two records. “The Color and the Shape” might be in my top 20 records of all times. But “There’s Nothing Left to Lose” came out, and some lucky kid at San Francisco’s Amoeba Music bought my record really cheap. I hated it. If Dave Grohl didn’t care about these songs, why should I? So I said goodbye to the Foo Fighters.

But dang it all, they’re back with a new record. Why couldn’t we just let things be? Two out of three are good odds. But no, they went and put another record out. I’ve seen the video, I saw them on Letterman last night, and I heard them acoustically on Howard Stern yesterday morning. I’m not impressed.

Granted, I haven’t heard the whole record, but I’m literally afraid to buy it. If it sucks, it may totally negate my love of their first two records. But if I love it, it’ll make me totally forget about that “Nothing Left to Lose” accident.

I sit here, at my desk, quaking in fear of making a wrong decision.
