Warren Ellis is my favorite writer of comics books. He has a lot to say about many things, including the new Blur album. From his newsletter, BAD SIGNAL:
The new Blur album is really, really bad. The next one could well be brilliant. THINK TANK feels like a dry run for a “real” album. Turns out “Don’t Bomb When You’re The Bomb” was an accurate indicator of the album after all. Sadly, the most listenable piece on the CD is the one that has Graham Coxon’s last contribution, a sort of Joe Meek post-rock. Skip this, come back for the next one, when they’ve gotten a grip on what they’re trying to achieve.
