Back, Prepared To Be Patted

From this week’s Columbus Alive:

Duffy for Prez in 2004?

If you haven?t tuned into Donewaiting.com in the last 12 months you?re either completely computer illiterate or living under the rock instead of in it. It seemed a challenge when he started, but Robert Duffy Jr.?s experiment to document the goings-on of the entire Columbus music scene has resulted in a successful and oft-frequented website.

His state of the union address (in his ?OH! Columbus? column) is pretty comprehensive, reading like a ?cheers and jeers? commentary on his virgin year in town. In it he gives much respect to his favorite band Miranda Sound, his new favorite club Caf? Bourbon Street, and local press (thanks man) and radio. The drama that occurred at the High Five gets the only unanimous ?boo.? And if there?s one thing Duffy could change, it?s the start times of weeknight shows, preferring earlier to later for the nine-to-fivers who still love cold beer.

With even more planned for next year, including a bevy of sponsored gigs showcasing Columbus bands out of town, Duffy may as well crown himself the all-knowing, all-doing chief of High Street. May I suggest Joel Treadway, of Cringe.com, as his running mate?

If you’d like to apply for a cabinet position, make your bid known.
