Bon Jovi: Arena Football Team Owner

Dear lord, why?

Bon Jovi will be co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul, an expansion Arena Football League team that will play next season in the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum … “I love football, always have,” said Bon Jovi, a New Jersey native. “It’s the only sport I really live and breathe.” (full story)

I mean, saying you love football and then buying an arena football team is equivalent of saying you like good music and buying the new Limp Bizkit CD, right?

Rolling Stone Slams White Stripes Live Concert

I love the White Stripes: their music, their live show, everything. But I have to admit, I love the fact that Rolling Stone slammed them:

Jack and Meg White share a stage surname, a flair for feeding rumors, and a predilection for white and red color schemes. What they don’t share, unfortunately, is a talent for their respective instruments. (full story)

Review Of New Aesop Rock Album

For whatever reason, I went from loving this band to thinking they’re boring. Maybe I’m just a dick.

Jackson Browne Discusses Warren Zevon

David Fricke does an excellent interview with Jackson Browne, reflecting on the life and music of Warren Zevon.

His songs are like short stories — the best songs always are. They tell much more about life than books; they communicate so much more than a longer volume would. But it’s funny. Here we are, talking at great lengths, to describe something that was the very opposite of that — a guy who could say something in a few words that was immediately understood. (full interview)
