Bands: Introduce Yourself + Give Us MP3 Links

A lot of bands troll around donewaiting.com, reading, interacting, becoming better people.

I want you all to introduce yourselves in the message board and then give us links to your MP3s so maybe we can become fans.

I’ve set up a special place to do it and that special place is right here.

Avril in a Bikini

Farm Aid in Columbus OH

Buckeyes in the hizzouse:

Farm Aid mainstays Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews are set to headline the 2003 edition of the annual festival, to take place Sept. 7 at the Germain Amphitheater in Columbus, Ohio. Additional artists will soon be added to the concert, which raises awareness and funds for family-owned U.S. farms. (full story)

I’m thinking Farm Aid will go on as expected and not have the problems we’re seeing at other bloated festivals.

‘Helter Skelter’ Said to Lead Teens to Kill Boy

Listening to music once again causes murder:

Four teenagers charged with beating a 16-year-old boy to death plotted the killing for weeks and listened to the Beatles song “Helter Skelter” several dozen times before the murder, according to an alleged confession read in court. (full story)

What’s more insane, the fact that three teenagers killed another teen … or that three teens were listening to The Beatles?

Gene Simmons Has A Blog

Sadly underwhelming. However, it’s translated in Italian, Spanish, French, Swedish, and Japanese among others.

First Date of Lollapalooza Tour Cancelled

Yo, what did I say to you earlier this week? “I’m also predicting Lollapalooza to lose money.”

Ahem:

The opening date of the Lollapalooza tour in America has been cancelled after headliners Jane’s Addiction ruled the venue unsuitable for the travelling rock’n’roll circus. (full story)

This is the end, beautiful friend.

Beck No Longer Experiencing Paradise by the Dashboard Light

People make fun of me for liking this band, too:

Dashboard Confessional has left its support slot on Beck’s North American tour, effective immediately. The Chris Carrabba-led group played its final gig on the trek Saturday outside Denver. The move is being chalked up to “circumstances beyond our control” on Dashboard’s official Web site, although sources indicate the band left the tour for financial reasons. (full story)

The article says that tickets aren’t selling that well, and some of the venues are even downsizing, which meant that Dashboard would have to be paid less per show.

Ticket prices were too expensive for me anyway, y’all.

What is this, a mutiny?

Chip Midnight is writing fake letters from me (see entry below). I think I gotta kick that guy in the biscuit.

The New Tuesday Three: Prologue

For the past few weeks I was picking three new albums that came out that Tuesday and telling you that if you had the extra cash, you should go ahead and buy them.

I realized that that formula was going to grow old quick, so I decided to change it. Starting this week, The Tuesday Three will be chosen by guest writers, musicians, artists and/or criminals.

Here are the rules given to the guests on what the Tuesday Three must consist of:

  • One album that is about to come out in the next seven days.
  • One album that has been released in the year 2003.
  • One album that has come out in the past or will come out in the future, no restrictions of date.

Once we have a few T3’s done (no relation to Terminator 3), I’m going to be archiving them all in a special section of donewaiting.com.

Let’s see how our first special guest did …
