Speaking of Arctic Monkeys, it’s not elaborate but I really like their new album artwork:

Ted Leo’s Website Finally Redesigned

Never have I loved a musician while equally hating their website. Luckily, the Ted Leo website was finally redesigned. I’d love to see an RSS feed for Ted’s news/blog area, but I’ll take what I can get.

Unreleased Tiara Song

I played this song in March at the donewaiting.com Happy Hour, and a few people asked about it. Tiara never officially released it, sadly.

Keep in touch, okay? Thanks.

Slaybaugh is DJing solo tonight because I’m in NYC. Can he handle it??????? Only one way to find out, dudes. Surly Girl Saloon in Columbus Ohio, 7-10pm. New music, old music, lots of Columbus beats. Always free, always a delight.

Chip Midnight’s Atomic Side

Donewaiting.com writer Chip Midnight has launched yet another new website, Atomic Ned. Named after the column he ran on this very site, Chip says Atomic Ned is going to be his one-stop shop for just about everything he writes for himself.

I think he’s taking this one pretty seriously, considering his baby Swizzle Stick actually redirects to the new Ned site…

Scott Solter has done a full album analog remix of John Vanderslice‘s excellent album Pixel Revolt. All of the mp3s are available for download here.

The Black Angels, Third Time Out

Tonight I’m going to see Austin’s The Black Angels for the third time. I’m a little concerned. The first time I saw them (at the High Five), I thought they were really really good. I saw them again opening for The Black Keys a few months later, and while I did like their set, I felt like it was more or less the same set I saw the first time.

Granted, what they do live is really good. They create a great atmosphere and mood with their music that few bands these days can do. But still, I feel like they really need to expand their musical vocabulary, introducing different time changes or instruments or something to make them repeatable.

So will there be any big changes tonight? Or more of the same ol’ same ol’? I’ll know in a few hours.
