Am I the only person in the world who can’t get into the Norah Jones record? Am I? Am I?
At any rate, here is where you can see her live. If you want.

If Norah ain’t your thing, you can always just go see Bettie Serveert instead.
Or go see both. Or see neither. That’s the cool thing: it’s your choice.

The new Doors lineup, which Manzarek has publicly assured is permanent and active, will embark on a major of the U.S./European tour this spring, after which they will record material for an all-new studio album to be released in fall 2003. Put down that Vanilla Coke, dude, the Hip Hop Pepsi Boycott is done faster than you can say Clear Pepsi:
Russell Simmons, Pepsi and The Ludacris Foundation have allegedly agreed to a multi-year, multi-million dollar partnership to support music and arts initiatives by Rush Arts in underpriveledged communities. The deal stops the Russell Simmons’ proposed boycott of Pepsi and its related products, including Quaker, Lipton, Fruitworks and Lay’s brands, which was set to start today. (full story)

From http://www.americanmusicclub.com/:
Mark Eitzel’s ‘The Ugly American’ will be released in Europe on Tongue Master Records on February 3rd. Tongue Master is distributed through Cargo UK. This is the long-awaited record recorded in Greece with famed composer/producer Manolis Famellos and a band of traditional Greek instrumentalists. The songs are a collection of classic American Music Club tracks, a couple solo Eitzel tracks, one new Eitzel song and a cover of one of Famellos’s songs. Things are still be worked out with Ryko for a US release date.
I hope I’m not the only one who finds sad humor in the fact that the album is titled “The Ugly American” yet there’s no U.S. release date yet.

Cities (but not dates) for Lollapalooza 2003 have been announced:
Atlanta, GA // Boston, MA // Chicago, IL // Cincinnati, OH // Cleveland, OH // Columbus, OH // Dallas, TX // Denver, CO // Detriot, MI // Hartford, CT // Holmdel, HJ // Houston, TX // Indianapolis, IN // Kansas City, KC // Los Angeles, CA // Miami, FL // Milwaukee, WI // New York, NY // Pittsburgh, PA // Philadelphia, PA // Phoenix, AZ // Raleigh, NC // St. Louis. MO // San Diego, CA // San Francisco, CA // Toronto, Ont. // Virginia Beach, VA // Washington, DC
No more bands have been announced, nor have what dates they’ll play the cities. The official website is live, though.
To be honest, I don’t know why I’m making such a big deal out of it. Maybe it was because I was about 2-3 years too young to be a part of the first wave of Lollapalooza, and I’m hoping this show would make up for it.
