One of my favorite sites, Slatch, has published a summary of an interview with Courtney Love a few nights ago. Here are my two favorite parts:

– One girl filed a paternity suit against her. The girl claimed that Courtney told her to sleep with a basketball player, which resulted in her getting pregnant. Courtney settled for $10 grand.

– Dave and Krist are gazillionaires and they are trying to steal her daughter’s money. She tells the DJ, “I didn’t realize you could use the argument ‘She is a bitch’ in a court of law, but apparently that holds up.”

Billy Corgan will play an acoustic show in Chicago on April 19.

What’s most intriguing is how tickets will be dispensed.

For entry, fans will “go to a location in Chicago on a certain date, be 18 and over, present an ID and be assigned a date to come to the session,” Corgan wrote on his official Web site. “That way as many fans as possible get to share in something I have rarely done, and that’s let anyone see me work. I can tell you it is not that exciting, but it is interesting as an experience of what goes on behind the scenes.” (full story)

Josh Homme?s new group The Eagles Of Death Metal ? in which he is known under a pseudonym ? is dropping their debut Peace Love Death Metal on Ipecac Records.

The group’s sound — guitar heavy, um, rock — won?t really shock, surprise or floor anyone in particular but it is a fun little disc.

A short, short, shorter than Herve Villechaize tour is planned and will make the following stops:

In advance of the ten year anniversary of Kurt Cobain?s death, Uncut is publishing an unearthed interview.

“I’d like to (collaborate with Love),” he said in the interview eight months before his suicide. “But to tell you the truth, I would rather just quit my band and join Hole.
“When I have played music with them, there’s a level of connection that’s a little bit higher than with anyone else I ever played with,” he added. (full story)

Ah, the new Local H disc shares a title with the most important question ever posed by man, “What Ever Happened To P.J. Soles?”

With such a stellar supporting cast one would think this album must rock…unfortunately it’s a big ol’ steretypical alt-rock yawn. Too bad.

The Who’s first new songs since the 1982 album “It’s Hard” will be included on an upcoming best-of collection.

While I am curious to hear the new songs (though I was pretty sure two of the tunes off Pete’s Iron Man soundtrack were Who cuts, so Billboard doesn’t quite have its facts right) do we really need another Who greatest-hits set? I mean, isn’t that like three discs in the last three years. We know the godfathers of punk need the dough, just listen to any given commercial on television today, but c’mon!

Today marks the release of the debut album for Chicago power-rockers Light FM. The boys are friends of Done Waiting and even helped anchor the Chicago date of the first Field Studies Tour so we thought you should know that their new album is awesome. I’d say it was better than the last Wilco disc but then I would have to out-run the fists of fury belonging to one Robert Duffy Jr. So I’ll just say it’s pretty damn good.
